Jokoani, a multi-park WooCommerce booking plugin

Jokoani runs several indoor play parks for children and sells birthday parties, workshops and a membership card, the Jokopass, through an online WooCommerce booking system. The WordPress and WooCommerce site had to move from case-by-case handling to a multi-site back office, ready for franchising.

I worked within the team on the plugin that manages sites and bookings, then on the site’s child theme.

Business rules overlapped: time slots per room, closing days, holidays, capacities, birthday options charged per child or mutually exclusive, national prices overridden per site. Each role (head office, site manager, staff, facilitator) had to see only its own scope.

The Jokopass added a full subscription flow: online payment, one subscription per child, physical cards to print and then scan at the front desk, unpaid instalments. WooCommerce and Square had to stay in sync, including on cancellations and refunds.

In the plugin, I worked on scheduling the same workshop across several sites, automatically skipping closing days when adding dates, birthday options carried by each site’s product, and a pricing and cancellation baseline with per-site overrides. PHP and Node test scripts cover the most sensitive regressions.

For the Jokopass, I connected Square: catalogue published from WordPress, webhooks, first period paid online and subscription started when the card is collected, gift vouchers, settling unpaid instalments from My account. Staff get scanning across the whole back office and label-sheet exports for the cards. On the theme, I added seasonal skins managed from a React screen, a switchable holding page and deployment through GitLab CI.
